Hello Raven,
My name is Mirsha. I spoke to you a while back sometime in September (which I don't expect you to remember). I'm dealing with somewhat of a love issue (again), and today this card showed up in my email from a free horoscope website. I know you know your stuff and I was really hoping you would better explain this card for me to so that I may better apply it to my life and situation. If you can't don't worry about, but I do hope to hear back from you. Thank You!

The Lovers card affirms my alter ego is a port key to a Soul Mate or deal, whose superpower is compatibility in the midst of reconciling dichotomy to interconnect as a whole new entity or 'color.' To be or not to be: at ultimatum or rival tensions mounting, negotiating acceptable trade-offs validates our unique perspectives to reflect what each lacks for a balanced voice of truce. When we're together I'm beside myself, so I concede mutual vested interest, incentive or opportunity to my other half for valued consideration. For only by the power of self-respect in reciprocal vulnerability, need and compassion do 'me and thee consummate we.' The rest is all a dance on the sidelines of Cinderella Pandering or prohibition, or around a Bermuda Triangle of bottom line temptation to cheat by provocation, promiscuity, or shame. But here at the gate of impasse, I still have a choice and my pride.

Sure, Mirsha, and thanks for writing. Hey, if I got this in my email I'd be baffled, too. It's a whole lot of words constructed out of confusion rather than insight. I think it's also very possible that it is translated from Italian, because it is the Lo Scarabeo deck--which I happen to think is lovely artwork--all of their decks are magnificent.
Perhaps it would be easier to understand The Lovers card in respect to your situation by understanding that it represents "the right choice." Making the right choice--the outcome is of the utmost importance--is not easy to do. We are very often conflicted between what we think we want, and what we really need. And sometimes what we need to learn may have to come by not getting what we want. Confusing? Unfortunately not all growth is easy to comprehend right away.
The Lovers card can sometimes represent lovers who are rightly suited for each other--but more often than not--this card comes up to say you need to be sure to make the right choice. In order to make the right choice, you first must know what it is you truly want. Once you know what it is you truly want, there is no choice because nothing can hold you back from going after it.
Be sure you know what you want before making a choice that may be a wrong one. The man and the woman in the image of this card represent the conscious mind and the sub-conscious mind respectively. (man=conscious, woman=sub-conscious) The arch-angel above them is Rafael, the angel of healing, patience and balance. He represents the supra-conscious or the higher consciousness. The objective of spiritual growth is to develop a healthy balance of all three, body-mind-soul. Once you have connected your conscious mind to the sub- and supra- you can find the answers you are looking for more easily.

Oh my goodness Raven!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew you would help----A LOT! Well my birthday is July 20 1984, and my (ex)boyfriend is a Pisces who now lives in Jacksonville (since about July). I live in Coconut Creek but travel to Pembroke Pines a lot to my parents house. We had gotten back together and here we are again broken up; but this time I feel like I made a really good decision, but I still can't figure out why we can't work out. Your explanation of the Lover's card is amazing! I'm gonna think that because I want a healthy relationship and a loving relationship I've made the right choice and I'm on the right path (hopefully in the end it will be him) but its crazy that the card showed up today, because we only just officialized the break up last night. Amazing.
